what it looks like

this is it :D

Sundial — your solar system: everyone you keep a day with
Sundial — today's beams: one day, kept between two
Sundial on your home screen: their day, without opening anything, and on your lock screen too
Sundial — a moonflower: one question, asked by the moon
Sundial — a sunsong: trade songs, give feedback
Sundial — an inkling: draw them something
Sundial — an eclipse: an intentional, scheduled facetime
Sundial: everything inside, and so much more

why i made this

because social media stopped feeling social a long time ago.

i wanted to create a quiet, private space for all the people in my life, where i could share silly thoughts, songs, pictures, voice memos, and so much more. i built sundial because i wanted to connect with those i love more, and see that connection right on my home screen.

honestly, i was just tired. tired of spam calls, spam texts, and a flood of unwanted emails from literally everything. i hate subscriptions. i wanted an intentional space free from all the annoying shit technology has nowadays, where every app wants your phone number just to collect a pile of data on you and sell it. sundial will never sell your data, and it never even asks for your phone number or email. everything you send is encrypted, so not even i can read it lol.

Ready when you are.

thank you for taking the time to look at my website and my app! i built it because i wanted to connect with those around me better. social media stopped feeling social and more like media a long time ago. this app aims to truly build deeper connections with your loved ones, like social media was originally intended to. this time, though, it's actually private.- j
